Standing Firm in Faith: An Update from Asia

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Asia!

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for standing with us in prayer during our difficult times. Your love and support mean more than words can express. The new year arrived while my children and I were facing a painful season. I initially decided not to engage in ministry until I had fully healed, but as a missionary, I must move forward, carrying my pain and tears deep within my heart.

I miss my beloved Jenima so much. Our home feels empty without her presence, and her absence is deeply felt in every moment.

Bible School

Despite challenges, the Bible School commenced in January with 18 new students from Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Nepal, and Bhutan. This year, we have waived the registration and tuition fees, as all our students come from impoverished backgrounds. If you feel led to support the Bible School, please contact Pastor Craig J. Pape, who will guide you in this endeavor.

From June to July, our students will be going on a one-month internship. We humbly ask for your prayers and support to provide for their needs during this time. Your prayers and contributions make a significant impact in equipping these future laborers for the harvest.

Baptism

In January and February, we were blessed to witness 40 baptisms! The harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few. Our primary mission at the Bible School is to train and send laborers to reach the unreached with the Gospel. Many of our graduates are actively engaged in church planting ministries, and we rejoice in the growth of God’s kingdom.

Church Construction

We have begun the construction of two church buildings in Sikkim—one in Rorathang and the other in Tadong, Gangtok. Building on the Himalayas presents unique challenges, particularly with the high costs of laying a strong foundation. The believers in these areas are in desperate need of a dedicated place of worship. If the Lord moves your heart to contribute, please reach out to us. Your one-time offering, given with a cheerful heart, will be a lasting investment in the Kingdom.

Tailoring Course

Our 6th batch of the Tailoring Course is about to complete their training. These women have shown incredible dedication and skill in their learning. We are deeply grateful to those who have provided sewing machines for these impoverished ladies, enabling them to support their families.

A new 7th batch, consisting of 48 women, is set to begin their training soon. A single sewing machine can provide a lifetime of financial stability for an entire family. Your generosity is transforming lives, and we thank you for standing in the gap for these struggling women.

A Personal Request

Afrin is currently taking her exams. She should be enrolling in university, but due to our current situation, she has decided to postpone her studies. As a father, it is incredibly painful for me to be unable to provide for her education. Please keep us in your prayers, as we are going through challenging times physically, mentally, and emotionally.

We trust in the Lord’s provision and remain steadfast in our mission, knowing that He is faithful. Thank you for your unwavering support, your prayers, and your love. May the Lord bless you abundantly.

In His Service,
Pastor Sam
